About

I am a Research Assistant Professor in Dr. Kitty Cardwell’s lab at Institute of Biosecurity and Microbial Forensics. I got my PhD in Infectious disease from Aix Marseille University, Marseille, France. Thereafter, I worked as an ORISE Postdoctoral fellow at USDA-ARS Research participation program in two different units of United States National Poultry Research Centre, Athens, GA. Firstly, I worked on the Development of Next-Gen based Sequencing approaches to Study Poultry related Virus and established the Next Gen sequencing lab and functions at the Southeast Poultry unit. Further, I worked on the Prevalence and Antimicrobial Resistance in Food borne pathogens at the Bacterial Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Research unit at Russel Research Center.

I joined IBMF in September 2020 to work on standing up the National Diagnostic Assay Laboratory Network (DALN). I am working on creating and coordinating the DALN network on private and public plant disease diagnostic assay developers, validation experts, reference collections, existing diagnostic assays and research, and type and location of statistical and epidemiological research data in the US. My goal is to build the consensus framework on plant disease diagnostic assay validation and create technical reviews and publish policy guidelines.  In addition, I will also work on developing assay validation protocols for Next Gen sequencing for bacterial and viral pathogens in Plants and Food animals.
