Southwest Research and Extension Center
The Irrigation Research Station is the headquarters for the Southwest Research
complex. This field station is devoted primarily to cotton research and particularly irrigated cotton. Some 209 acres are used in irrigation studies. Programs include cotton variety development, irrigation management, alfalfa, small grains, soybeans, sorghum, and bermudagrass.
The Southwest Research and Extension Center covers 245 acres three miles south of Altus on Highway 283.
